Pistons

I got the xs1100 pistons I order in the mail this weekend. And they have much better way of wiping oil, they have 2 sets of oil drainage holes. And as for the rings the xs1100/850 ring are bigger than the xs750 rings. I was concerned about the xs1100 pistons using different rings than the xs850 because I had already purchased some 850 rings but I messed them and they take the same rings. Now my biggest consern is that the xs1100 pistons are taller than the Xs 750 pistons. I guess I'll jus have dubble check that very closely during assembly. Maby the 850 jug is a touch taller making the piston just right. Now all I'm weighting on is the gasket set and the Delrin plastic. Yet again can't post pictures this post because I'm posting this on my iPhone.

Primary chain tensioner, and final drive

I opened up the case enough to check out the primary chain or (hy-vo chain) and it has quite a-bit of slack in it, enough that the chain was slapping on the top of the case where the dipstice is on the case. So I decided to research primary chain tentioners, and then homemade ones found lots of good ideas. I'm still searching for plastic I think I'm going to use Delrin But I was also looking at some harley tentioners and I might be able to adapt one of those. But that is still to come , and when I get started on it I'll post some pictures.
I also decided to remove the swing-arm and disasemble the final drive/rearend. The swing arm bearings where compleatly seized , so I ordered a set off eBay, some all-balls came with the bearings and seals and 2 little o-rings. For 32$. And they just arrived today. As for the rest of the swing arm assembly everything looked great!

I also this week ordered a full gasket set for an xs850 and there wasn't any xs850 pistons on eBay so i got some xs1100 standard pistons, after hours of Internet research found out that they work in the xs850 and have the same piston rings. I sure hope so because I already found someone on a forum that was selling three piston ring sets for 150.00$ which is a good deal considering how hard they are to find period! I posted this with my iPhone so I'll have to post some progress pictures when I get a chance
